The Balqon Corporation has entered into a dealer agreement with Autoelevadores Yale, a leading distributor of material handling equipment and electric vehicles in Argentina. This is the first international reach for the American maker of heavy-duty electric big trucks and drayage haulers.
The agreement includes both the 7-ton Mule and the Nautilus electric yard/drayage tractors.
The deal includes both electric vehicle importing, sales, and service as an authorized dealer in Argentina. Balwinder Samra, CEO of Balqon, says the company is excited about going international:
…we believe that our presence in South America will allow us to jointly explore other opportunities for our proprietary heavy-duty electric traction drive systems and our lithium-ion battery management systems within transportation markets through joint ventures with regional original equipment manufacturers throughout South America.
Autoelevadores Yale is a division of the Yale Corporation and sells a full line of lift trucks, motorized hand trucks, and other material handling equipment. This is definitely a big step for both Autoelevadores and, especially, for Balqon, whose electric heavy trucks are finally going international.
