Azure Dynamics has delivered it’s 1,000th Balance Hybrid Electric vehicles to Purolator, which now owns 555 of the trucks. This represents Purolator’s 200th unit received in just 2011 as part of an ongoing 600-truck order being delivered over a 3-year period.
Azure is the world’s number one provider of hybrid electric powertrain solutions to medium-duty markets.
“This is a significant milestone in Azure’s history and is fitting that Purolator be the recipient of this 1000th vehicle,” said Scott Harrison, Chief Executive Officer of Azure. “Purolator continues to be our largest volume customer and consistently demonstrates a strong commitment to the environment by adding cleaner, greener BalanceTM Hybrid Electric vehicles to its fleet.”
The Azure Balance Hybrid Electrics delivered to Purolator are built on a Ford E450 chassis using a Ford 4.5L gasoline engine and include engine shut-off for anti-idle and run on pure electric when moving at under 20mph.
