I reviewed the VW Passat TDI on AboutAlternativeCars.com. Here’s an excerpt. You can read the full review of this diesel car at this link.
For the past week, I’ve been driving the 2012 VW Passat TDI sedan. It’s a beautiful car that, for its price point, surprises with its excellent handling and ride. The extremely efficient diesel engine, though, is really the crowning achievement of this car.
That engine is a 2.0-liter tubocharged, direct injected (TDI) in-line 4-cylinder putting out 140 horsepower at 4,000 RPM and 230 pound feet maximum at 2,500 RPM. It’s coupled with a 6-speed transmission available in either automatic or manual shift on a front wheel drive setup. As tested, it was an automatic with select shift.
